Product Description More than 700 glow in the dark shapes to decorate ceilings and walls make this classic kit a fun and educational item. Measures 2"L x 9.5"W x 2"H.
Editorial Review This Star Explosion kit allows children to create a universe in their own bedrooms. With over 500 glow-in-the-dark adhesive pieces to choose from (including stars of all sizes, comets, asteroids, and spiral galaxies), junior astronomers can create star displays, black-hole effects, and, with the aid of the included star map, actual constellations. There are 364 small (.25-inch to 1.5-inch) star stickers and about 200 larger (1.5-inch to 5.5-inch) plastic shapes that adhere to walls and ceilings with the putty that comes with the set (it's safe to use on most surfaces). The stickers and plastic shapes are made of Glominite, a safety-tested product that stores light. Each time the Glominite shapes are exposed to light, they recharge--so that the glowing keeps on going. --Kathryn Gustafson

WE TURNED THE BEDROOM INTO A GALAXY November 7, 2003 94 out of 96 found this review helpful
I had a lot of fun with my granchildren transforming their bedroom into a glowing galaxy. There was more than enough stars to make a bunch of constellations on their ceiling. These are easy to use and weren't messy at all. The kids love staring at the stars and pointing out the names of constellation before they go to bed at night. I was surprised when they started pointing out the real ones once we were outside one evening. The experience really turned them on to learning about the constellations. We even ended up buying a real telescope and book about stars. What a fun way to learn for all of us.

For $70 I changed my daughter's bedroom into outer space:
$20 - these stars, worked really well though I wish they gave you a bit more of the adhesive putty
$20 - glow in the dark planets
2x$15 - two 71 cm flourescent blacklights
The blacklights really help give the stars and planets an errie glow...
Overall turned out much better than I expected, kids love it.
Awesome! It's like lying on my back looking up at the stars. October 6, 2006 Matt Casey (Fort Worth, Texas USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Lots and lots of stars and shapes, big and small. It took me several sessions throughout the day to put all the stars and shapes up, but I was overwhelmed at the results. Granted, the task of putting them up is tedious (yes, I even used tweesers for the smallest stars), but after illuminating them with lights and then viewing them in the dark, it's like lying on my back looking up at the stars. Awesome!!!
The adhesive putty that came with the stars is not very strong, nor is there near enough to put up all the stars. I bought a tube of acrylic caulk adhessive (approx $1.75) and used that to adhere the stars and shapes to my walls and ceiling. It worked excellently.
My room is awesome! November 29, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My mom got me these stars for a school project. I got some poster puddy separate, and they stayed up. Once we turned the lights out, my ceiling looked beautiful! The glow lasts about 30 min. (maybe more). I also got a guide for arranging the stars in to constellations with it, and it was easy enough. This product is PERFECT for sleepovers! I have no complaints!
Mother of boys who no longer need a night light July 11, 2006 Karen Hart (Ocala, Florida) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The stars are awesome and work excellently. Just keep a bright lamp on them for their first day up, and wow! The whole bedroom, and my twins' room is very large, is illuminated in the night sky. They even made some star concellations so they can pick them out of their new bedroom sky. Great Gift!
