Diego is Great for On the Go! July 24, 2008 C. Scott (Dallas TX) I bought this for my cousin's little girl. She loves Diego! It is a great size for when she goes to grandma's or to a friends house. No parent likes to lug around tons of big toys, so this is a great little toy and friend to take on trips or to stick inside her little Dora backpack. It is very soft and cuddly.
Hours of creative fun January 19, 2009 T. Judd (Ohio) My daughter received this as a gift for Christmas and thinks it is the greatest. She has Diego rescue animals all over the house. It has provided hours of creative fun for my toddler.
Like it! February 2, 2009 mommy REW (Warner Robins GA USA) My daughter loves Diego and this doll is perfect for her. She is almost three years old and carries Diego around along with Dora and boots - also Beanie Buddies/babies (respectively). It seems to be durable and fun. I did not give a higher rating because it doesn't "DO" anything that would make it more educational or fun than most stuffed dolls. The best thing about it is that it is Diego and it is a tangible representation of a character she loves and she can hug it and talk to it and carry it around with her - that's why it get's a five overall. The Dora Beanie Buddy is the same as is the Boots Beanie Baby.
Regarding the shipping cost - I felt it was too high, but then I wasted a comparable amount in gas conducting a fruitless search for this Diego in a retail store. Lesson learned ... but it would be better if it were eligible for super saver shipping.
Go Diego Go! October 6, 2009 Andrew Ellington (I'm kind of everywhere) I'm breaking out of my comfort zone here (I usually ONLY review books, movies and music) to review a toy I recently purchased for my daughter (this is the second of potentially 5 reviews). My daughter (who is 2) is IN LOVE with Dora and Diego. She already has a few Dora dolls (not to mention a bedspread) but I just couldn't resist these little Ty dolls.
I actually really like the size. She can stuff all five of her dolls in her Dora Backpack and take them around the house with her. I won't let her sleep with Dora or Diego yet (as some have mentioned, the hair is kind of scary in that it looks like it could easily come out) but she has enough other dolls (Boots for one) to sleep with.
Yes, I gave it only four stars on durability since the ware and tear of a toddler can do some damage. Boots already is separating at the seams on his legs, so I had to get onto my little one for pulling at his legs. No, his legs are not falling off, but I can tell that they are getting weak. So, just watch your little ones to make sure they don't `love these little guys to death'. Also, it says that these are not recommended for children under three because they have small parts. My daughter is two and we have no problem with her playing with these. The parts are not that small (I gather they are talking about the backpack) and it seems pretty sturdy on here. Just watch your kid, which I'm sure you already are.
If your kids love Diego you can rest easy knowing that they will LOVE these dolls as well!
And a note to parents, these toys are NOT educational; but the show is VERY much so (my kids speaks Spanish! Like, OMG, I don't speak a word and she converses with me in Spanish at TWO YEARS OLD!!!).
my son carries it everywhere October 28, 2009 Mom of two (Jax, Florida) Great for my diego obsessed 2yr old. He has a large diego doll and this little one is great for the car, etc
