| Customer Reviews: Shock Guard Mouth Guard Protects Me From Grinding. April 27, 2009 Katherine J. Chapman (California) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I'M BROKE SO WAS UNABLE TO BUY A EXPENSIVE MOUTH GUARD FROM MY LOCAL DENTIST. THEY CHARGE FROM $400-$700 for a great NIGHT GUARD.
My husband picked this SHOCK GUARD up and I was very steptical but he helped me put it on last night.
WE DID HAVE TO DO THE 5 STEPS TWICE THOUGH TO GET A EXCELLENT FIT!!
IT WILL TAKE A LITLE TIME TO GET USE TO IT IF YOU HAVE NEVER OWNED ONE.
I'VE BEEN WEARING ONE ON FOR YEARS SO AS LONG AS IT FITS TIGHT AND IS COMFORTABLE I WILL SLEEP WELL KNOWING THAT WHEN I GRIND MY TEETH I WON'T BE WEARING THEM DOWN AS FAST OR EVEN BREAKING THEM.
JUST KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS TOTALLY TO GET A GREAT FIT!! PLEASE REPEAT ALL THE STEPS AGAIN IF YOU DON'T GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST OR EVEN THE SECOND TIME IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME AND YOU CAN NOT BEAT THE GREAT PRICE!
GREAT GUARDING,

Not one to use for a night guard November 16, 2009 MarieCW (Maryland) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I grind my teeth while I sleep, which is when I wear a moughguard. Sport versions have been as helpful to me as those from the dentist, saving me hundreds of dollars. The Shock Doctor Mouthguard just doesn't get a very good fit. The material is too sturdy, which would be good for protection if I were playing football, but not good for wearing for hours at night. I made several attempts, but it was just too uncomfortable to wear - too stiff and not conforming to my teeth. I've had better luck with the softer plastic ones, but I can only seem to find them in sporting goods stores rather than here at Amazon.
Does not retain shape May 20, 2009 Sudipto (Stony Brook, NY USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This does not come with a case. I got this for grappling. The boil and bite method for shaping this did not work well. Despite my efforts, this mouthguard did not conform well to my mouth. After a week, parts of the plastic started to flake off in my mouth. Just try grappling while trying not to swallow bits of plastic in your mouth. Will not buy again.
