? A full-page blueprint of Serenity's Flying Mule.
? A full-page blueprint of Inara Serra's Shuttle.
? A page of all of Serenity's builders' plaques.
? A page of warning labels and other signage.
? Four pages with all the bridge computer screens.
? A page with all of Serenity's door designs.
? A copy of the confidential Allied Spacecraft Corp. memo outlining the development and introduction plan for the Series 1 Firefly.
? A transcript from the do-it-yourself ship maintenance vidfeed, Boost Your Boat.
? A page from the yard log of Austin's Salvage documenting the arrival of the Independents Military Gunboat Cerberus.
? The top-secret engineering blue book entry on the amazing new Series 4 Firefly, code-named Kestral.
And if that weren't enough, the Reference Pack also includes never-before-seen full-page drawings of the Series 1, 2 and 4 Firefly designs, plus the Cerberus military variant created by Mr. Earls, Serenity's original designer.

An amazing work of art and an incredible reference guide February 5, 2008 Jessi S. Clark-white (Veneta, OR) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This stunning flip book contains ten sheets of full-color, detailed blueprints of Serenity, her shuttles, and the mule, plus an additional 20 pages of content. Each of the main blueprint pages shows a different view of the ship or portion thereof and include diagrams of the mule and the shuttles. Every nook and cranny of Serenity is explored, and many new details are revealed, things that were never shown in the movie or TV series but are fascinating to think about. Serenity has escape pods. An age-old forum question is answered - does Serenity have showers? Yes.
The graphics are beautifully done; they don't look like blueprints per se, but I find them much more attractive. The clean, simple diagrams of the ship appear on a parchment-like background, which is darker near the outlines of the ship and fades out to a lighter shade. It's attractive and browncoaty. The diagrams are very easy to see and understand, but there is also a satisfying amount of detail conveyed. I can't even imagine the untold hours of design work that went into creating these; great attention was paid not only to creating accurate, attractive diagrams of the ship and her workings, but to making the background they appear on seamless and interesting.
This is so much more than a dry blueprint of a ship; this book takes the imagery and canon of the show and uses it to create something that stands on its own feet as a piece of the 'verse.
Every single page is a work of art and clearly a labor of love. It's satisfyingly big, allowing the art to be viewed clearly, without being too large to handle. The pages flip easily and the high-quality spiral binding allows it to lie flat. The pages are on heavy stock with top-notch, full-color printing throughout. There's a very touching introduction of sorts by Orson Scott Card, renowned sci-fi author and Firefly fan.
What other goodies? Too many to mention, really. There is a page that shows a number of "draft" versions of the Serenity logo, showing the stages it went through before the final was chosen, and a page showing the various doors on the ship and their markings, and....and.....
These are an awesome resource for fanfic writers among others, and a wonderful thing for any fan to be able to thumb through, studying the layout of our beloved ship in the company of artists who love it just as dearly. The wealth of information, beautiful design, and reasonable price combine to make the Serenity Blueprint Reference Pack deserve my highest rating.
Attention to detail February 25, 2008 Talie 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It never ceases to amaze me how much attention to detail QMX put into their products - and this reference pack is another fine example. Before my obsession with Firefly began, I'd never been a collector of stuff (not even with my star trek obsession) but I find myself wanting pretty much everything that QMX releases. I love the way they put so much care into everything, it's not just some cheezy cheap looking knockoff of something. The reference pack is truly a unique item and I figure the guys that work on this stuff must be huge fans of Firefly/Serenity themselves, because the care and effort put into their products really shows. Worth every cent.
Bound to be Awesome June 11, 2010 Snoots Dwagon (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't really know why Amazon is referring to this item as a "toy" in the reviews area... but a toy it isn't. This is a bonafide, legitimate means to better understandin' yer starship. While it may not have all the makin's Kaylee would want in a tech manual, it still serves a rightful purpose in displayin' the innards and such of a ship like the Firefly. I would venture this manual would allow a person to build a respectable facsimile if'n they had the space, time and credits. The double-page-size manual is on good quality stock, the artwork extremely well done, and all the parts and views there presentable-like. All in all, I'd have to say this book is shiney.
Just what I needed! May 26, 2010 brickfrenzy (Ohio) This is a great resource for all Firefly fans. Buy it and cry quietly while hugging it to your chest and thinking about how Fox canceled the show so prematurely.
Gorgeous Work of Art... February 1, 2010 Cary L. Brown (Raleigh NC) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
To begin with... obviously, these aren't "blueprints" in the true sense (aka "engineering drawings used to build or to inspect a manufactured good"). What they really are is "general plans."
And as such, they are amazingly well-done. Beautiful, true works of art... the creator of these obviously loves the source material. As do I...
To make things perfectly clear, the CGI model used in the series is not the same one used on the film (though it's so close that you have to be a real stickler to pick out the differences... well, except for the fancy landing-legs in the film, I suppose!) And the sets used in the movie aren't the same sets used in the TV show... though again, they're close enough that you're not likely to notice the differences. If you DO notice the difference, just remind yourself that it's "just a show." Both are supposed to represent the same ship... but one is a better quality construction. I say that because this set of plans is based upon the movie version, not the TV version. Not a big deal, but worth being aware of in case you happen to care.
That said... this booklet is treated as a "historical publication" from some time after the series (including the movie) and treats it all as history... with a very positive spin, so one would assume that history has been kind to our "heroes." It's there to provide information about the ship, and through that, about the people who lived (and in some cases died) aboard her. It also gives a fair amount of info on the history of the "Firefly" class transport series.
But no... it's not a "blueprint set." It's much better than a blueprint set, as far as I'm concerned. ABSOLUTELY worth the purchase price for any Firefly/Serenity fan.
