When a player has none of his/her original letters left, that player says "PEEL" and takes a tile from the bunch. At this point ALL OF THE OTHER PLAYERS MUST ALSO TAKE A TILE FROM THE BUNCH and add it to their collection of letters.

At any time, and as often as desired during play, any player may return a difficult-to-use letter back to the center of the BUNCH, face down, but MUST TAKE THREE LETTERS IN RETURN. The player must declare this action to the other players by saying "DUMP". This exchange does not affect the other players.

Play continues until there are fewer tiles in the BUNCH than there are players. The first player with no remaining letters shouts "BANANAS" and is the winner of that hand. The other players may now inspect the winning hand for misspelled or incorrect words. Proper nouns are not acceptable. Any available dictionary may be used. If all words are acceptable, that player is the WINNER OF THAT HAND. If any word in the "winning" hand is found to be unacceptable, that player becomes the "Rotten Banana" and is OUT OF THAT HAND, and must return his/her letters, face down to the center bunch and the game now resumes for the remaining players.
SUGGESTIONS FOR PLAYING BANANAGRAMS
"BEST OF?"
A hand can take as little as 5 minutes, so players, if desired, could play for the "best of five" or "the best of ten".
BANANA SMOOTHIE (For those who want to play a less hectic game)
All tiles are placed face down on the table The letters are divided equally among the players, remaining face down. Players then play the regular BANANAGRAMS game, but there is no "peeling" or "dumping". The first player to use all his/her letters shouts "BANANAS" and is the winner of the hand. If the game ends in a stalemate, the player with the fewest remaining letters is the winner.

I have nothing to add to all the exemplary praises of the other reviews, but did want to say that this game arrives in its zipped banana pouch carrier, with no bulky box or packaging. It's the size of a fat banana, and would fit neatly into a Christmas stocking.

We bought this for my oldest daughter's birthday (12 years old) and it has quickly become one of our family's favorite games. It's quick, you can change up the rules to make it work for young or old. We highly recommend it. It's so simple but so fun!

This game is so much fun. A friend introduced it to me while we were on a roadtrip to the Pacific NW, where it seems to have caught on, but back in NYC, I haven't been able to find it in any toystores. It was described to me as "Scrabble meets Boggle," and that's about right, but more stimulating than either. I am addicted!

If you are a scrabble fan but don't like waiting around for your turn this is the game for you. Because everyone plays simultaneously there's none of that pesky waiting for slow pokes to figure out what word to make....YAWWWN (BORING!) Not this game! From the moment one person says "SPLIT" it's a race. I love that you can change words during play and you can get rid of that annoying Q when there's not a U in sight, of course it'll cost ya but sometimes it's well worth it. It can be a bit intimidating to people who don't think quick or have a quick grasp of words. It's very unpredictable. Things can change so quickly, that no 2 games are alike. And it doesn't always turn out the way you think it will. It keeps things interesting. I love this game and so does the rest of my family!!
